Description

FISHER across the bonnet and Fisher Engineering Ltd. down each flank: this is Bertie Fisher's Escort RS1800 wearing his own name, far from the familiar works colours. IXO's 1:43 model is the #14 he and Austin Frazer took to seventh overall on the 1981 Haspengouw Rally in Belgium.

Light- and dark-blue stripes cut through the white bodywork, with Belga rally plates, a Sydney Meeke Motorsport sunstrip, the GVX 489T registration, silver multi-spoke wheels and mud flaps all picked out.

It suits a Bertie Fisher collection alongside his later Subaru Impreza years, or an Escort line-up that already has the works cars.
